India has begun a new chapter of economic relations with China. During the recent visit by Chinese President Xi Jinpung, both countries agreed on a 5-year economic and trade development plan and laid the financial groundwork for a pair of new Chinese industrial parks in India. Both countries also say they are working to improve market access between them and grow investment opportunities. (Fibre2Fashion)

India’s Ministry of Textiles has approved the establishment of 13 textile parks throughout the country, each requiring a US$16.4 million minimum investment according to officials. Each park will employ up to 3,000 people once operational. India has set out to increase its share of the global textile market from 4% to 12% in the next 10 years. (Fibre2Fashion)
