The demand was made during a hearing initiated by the Pakistan Institute of Labor, Education, and Research to see if court orders to release that compensation had been executed. The court has ordered the reports to be submitted no later than December 9. (Daily Times)

Pakistan’s Prime Minister has assembled a committee to address the issue of gas shortages for textile factories in the Punjab region during the coming winter months. Led by Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance, the committee will be charged with proposing mechanisms for ensuring that textile factories in the Punjab region have a sufficient supply of natural gas to last them through the winter months. It’s estimated that the energy crisis has cost the textile sector over US$3 billion in lost export revenue. (Fibre2Fashion)
