India’s textile industry could reach US$350 billion in sales by 2025 if it focuses on diversification, according to the Confederation of the Indian Textile Industry (CITI). Speaking at the recent Texfair, Confederation officials say that Man-Made Fibers could hold the key to this growth because they are in high demand not only domestically, but internationally as well. They also indicate that industry consolidation and integration is also necessary to achieve these targets. (Times of India)

 

India’s largest apparel vocational training network has inaugurated a new training initiative aimed at increasing efficiency in manufacturing. The Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC) has partnered with their counterparts in Sri Lanka to launch the initiative which focuses on factory efficiency, value addition, and waste reduction. The first 5-day session was launched on January 12. (Fibre2Fashion)
