Ethiopia

Ethiopia has been identified as a top future sourcing destination in East Africa by a recent survey conducted by McKinsey and Company titled “East Africa: The next hub for apparel sourcing.” The survey asked a group of Chief Purchasing Officers (CPOs) if they planned to either begin or increase sourcing from an African nation by 2020 and 28% of respondents indicated they planned to begin sourcing from Ethiopia by 2020 while 8% indicated that they would increase their sourcing. 13% of those surveyed also said that they believe Ethiopia would be among the top 3 global sourcing destinations in the next 5 years.
