An Italian court has convicted 3 Chinese garment factory executives in connection with a deadly 2013 factory fire in the city of Prato that killed 7 people. The owner of the Teresa Moda factory was sentenced to over 8 years in prison while a pair of factory managers were each sentenced to just under 7 years. Prosecutors say that the factory’s fire exists were blocked at the time of the blaze, though the defense disputes that claim. The 3 defendants were also convicted of exploiting clandestine labor and failure to implement proper safety measures. (Associated Press)
