A new report is urging leaders in Kenya’s garment and textile industry to immediately address “bottlenecks” to competitiveness. The report, published in conjunction with the World Bank and the Kenyan Government, noted that the textile and apparel sectors remain the country’s “growth engine” for industrial exports and that the country is aiming to become a hub for green and sustainable production. The report was one of a trio of publications outlining recommendations for the country’s highest-priority industries, which also include leather and lumber. (Fibre2Fashion)
