North Korea

North Korean textile exports to China are expected to quadruple to US$800 million this year as compared to 2010, according to the Korea International Trade Association. Analysts say that an abundance of low-cost labor in North Korea is one of the main drivers behind the surge, as manufacturers work to escape rising wages in China itself. Textiles account for over 26% of all exports from North Korea to China. (Yonhap News)
