A new textile policy expected to be announced later this month could generate up to US$2 billion in additional textile export revenue for Pakistan, according to government officials. In a recent interview, Pakistan’s Textile Minister noted that the policy would increase the rebate on textile exports from 3% to 4% and would include a new business center in the capital city of Islamabad where exporters could more easily interface with potential buyers. The minister noted that rising costs in China present a golden opportunity for Pakistan to gain more customers.(The Nation)
