South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy says that the government plans to spend US$27 million next year in an effort to boost the country’s premium fashion and lifestyle brands. Specifically, the plans call for a doubling in the research and development budget to help support marketing and export efforts to overseas markets. Government officials say that the country’s industrial strength and the popularity of Korean culture globally will help drive growth. (Fibre2Fashion)
