Textile and garment exports from Sri Lanka grew by 25% year-on-year in June to reach US$446 million, according to the country’s Central Bank. The textile sector also contributed over 50% to the country’s overall growth in exports during the month. Sales to Europe experienced the highest growth at 34.6%, while sales to the United States also posted strong increases at 12.1%. Textile and garment exports count for over 45% of all Sri Lankan exports. (Daily News)
